 THE SHAPE OF LIES  store opened it's doors in the East Village of New York City in 1979.  We are one of the only Mom & Pop residential stores left in New York's East Village.  We can boast both an original tin ceiling and a screen door!  As our neighbors know; when the lights on you can always knock for gifting emergencies....we live in back
When you visit you’ll find items inspired by a fascination with useful gadgetry. For example, brooch pins designed to hold your reading glasses and 1840’s style Victorian spine bookmarks graced with uncommon and richly colored European glass beads, making for thoughtful and impressive gifts.

In addition The Shape of Lies has it's own line of  museum jewelry, dedicated to reviving archetypal symbols and images created by artisans throughout the ages.   These diminutive works of wearable art have become sought-after by shoppers seeking unusual items of intellectual and spiritual value.
