Beyond the hustle of Manhattan and mere blocks from downtown Brooklyn, resides a shop simply called RIME - the uncompromising result of over 30 years of Susan Boyle's experience in the rag trade. After cutting her teeth as both the buyer and GM at LRT Jeans in Jackson Heights and then a five year stint as the senior buyer of apparel for the 22,000 sq. foot Broadway behemoth known as Michael K., Susan felt it was finally time to take what she had learned and apply it to a retail platform that would give back to the one thing she loved more than anything else, the community.

Taking inspiration from Brooklyn's rich background, as well as the neighborhood's laid-back atmosphere, Rime's goal is to carve out a niche for itself in an area that was lacking before it's arrival . Susan and her hand-picked staff have gravitated toward the more progressive side of the street scene and wanted to blur the lines between high-concept sportswear and authentic underground labels that cater to a more mature customer that has grown out of their skatewear and wants something a little more distinct than what is being offered at the big-box retailers in the city.  To help communicate this, the store's clean glass shelves and industrial steel racks are merchandised with only the best collections on the market in terms of quality, design, and authenticity. " I feel that what makes the shopping experience unique at RIME is that every line we stock has a story behind it and we are personally invested in their success" says Susan. Just some of the brands you can expect to encounter are the clothing labels: Stussy, Undftd, Recon, Hellz Bellz, Public School, Penfield, Moncler and footwear and accessories by Nike, Clae, Alife, Kidrobot, Clawmoney, and Tom Ford.

Art and music play just as big a role here as the merchandise and from day one of opening its doors, RIME has encouraged artist to "come in, hang out and be a part of what we do" by collectively tapping into the energy of the community around them. From shows like "Windows on Brooklyn" to the upcoming Kidrobot event "In it for the Munny" on the 26th of July, they continue to uphold their promise "to constantly look forward in order to give back."
