New Special Edition Eyewear to Support Autism Awareness and Education
FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., Feb. 2

Oakley, Inc. today announced that it has partnered with Talk About Curing Autism (TACA), an organization that supports, empowers and educates families living with autism. "We are honored to team with TACA and play a part in spreading the message of hope," said Pat McIlvain, Oakley's Vice President of Global Sports Marketing. "These new TACA special editions will fuel awareness, and we are proud to contribute $20 from each sale to assist in supporting TACA's ongoing mission to help children with autism reach their true potential," McIlvain concluded.
"Corporations like Oakley are a wonderful gift to TACA and the families we serve," said TACA Executive Director Lisa Ackerman. "Oakley brings a powerful influence to foster awareness and visibility of autism, and to aid our mission to help a community in great need. We are grateful for this support, and for friends like Oakley," Ackerman concluded.
One in every 91 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. Worldwide statistics are thought to be just as significant. TACA believes that with appropriate medical interventions, traditional therapies and support services, many children with autism can greatly improve and some can recover. With its website and support team, TACA is taking the message of hope where help is needed, bringing crucial information on the best practices for treating autism spectrum disorder.
The new TACA Oakley Fuel Cell(TM) and TACA Oakley Ravishing® eyewear are highlighted with the art of a puzzle motif, signifying that the puzzle of autism can be solved. The multicolored design highlights the frame stems and is also featured on the included Microclear(TM) bag, added for lens cleaning and frame storage. Each sunglass package also includes a puzzle piece with an attached wearable pin in the shape of the TACA logo.

Eco-Conscious Design Salutes Athlete's Championing of Green Initiatives
FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., July 7 /
Oakley, Inc. today announced the release of Bob Burnquist Gascan(R) eyewear. A special rendition in the coveted Oakley Gascan line, the new eco-conscious design honors the namesake athlete's support of Green initiatives in environmental awareness. A portion of the proceeds from sales will go to the Action Sports Environmental Coalition (ASEC), an organization co-founded by Burnquist in 2001.

"This new release salutes not only the talent and style of a great athlete but the ongoing efforts in his drive to raise consciousness about environmental issues," said Colin Baden, president of the company. "Bob has been part of the Oakley family for many years, and we have always been inspired by his achievements in skate and his championing of Green initiatives. With its eco-conscious materials, the Bob Burnquist Gascan is a milestone in eyewear design that helps support a noble cause while bridging the gap between technical innovation and the Green way of thinking," Baden concluded.
To produce the frame, Oakley is utilizing excess materials from the manufacture of other eyewear. A sustainable natural fiber that is fully biodegradable, 100% certified organic bamboo is used to make the included storage bag. Icons that accent the frame are also made of bamboo, and Oakley is using recycled materials and eco-friendly inks for packaging.
With its clean, uncomplicated styling, Gascan is part of the Oakley Lifestyle Collection inspired by athletes. In addition to bamboo icon accents, this special edition features Warm Grey lenses, Black frame coloration and screen printing on the inside of the right temple.
Brazil native Bob Burnquist began his skate career at age eleven and turned pro by age fourteen. He is a pioneer and continuing innovator of mega ramp skateboarding, and his switch-stance ability and creative
lines have been honored with numerous gold, silver and bronze medals. Voted Best Vert Skateboarder by his peers, Burnquist's list of contest wins includes the X Games, Gravity Games, OP King of Skate, Vans Triple Crown, Slam City Jam, countless Brazilian competitions, and many others. In his spare time, he enjoys piloting airplanes, skydiving and overseeing his own organic farm.
Rendered with unrivaled styling, Oakley Gascan eyewear comes with premium technical features. The lenses are cut from a single lens shield then mounted in the frame to maintain the original, continuous contour. Gascan offers the clarity of High Definition Optics(R), a collection of technologies that maintain razor-sharp vision at every angle of view. The optical performance exceeds ANSI Z87.1 standards while the impact resistance meets every test of ANSI Z87.1, thanks to pure Plutonite lens material that also serves to block all UVA, UVB and UVC. Sculpturally integrated hinges work with dual-cam action, and Oakley's Three-Point Fit ensures all-day comfort. This eyewear is available with Oakley Authentic Prescription Lenses in select colors (+2.00 to -4.00 combined power).
