The New York Adorned offers traditional henna dye work called mehndi. It is a 5000 year old art of staining hands and feet with intricate floral and geometric designs. The leaves of the Lawsonis Alba or henna plant, citrus juices and essential oils are mixed into a paste and left on the hands for several hours. The resulting stain can range from a tight orange-brown to a deep burgundy that lasts 1-3 weeks

Katrina LaPenne, a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.  Inspired by natural forms, Katrina's jewelry is created to accentuate and enhance the wearer - as well as stand alone as beautiful objets d'art.  We will be carrying a variety of her work at both the Manhattan and Brooklyn locations

Michelle Chang also lives and works in New York City.  Having worked as a fine artist, illustrator and interior designer, Michelle believes she has found her true passion in jewelry making.  In this medium, she can combine all her professional skills in one creative process.  Michelle Chang's line is vast; ranging from the very elegant to a more casual and youthful motif.  We consider her a great designer from whom to find gifts for friends, children and your valentine.

NEW ARRIVALS:  Bruce Snell Vintage and Collectible Jewelry Collection

Handmade Indian elephant ivory sweetheart necklace. This master jeweler more than likely hand-casted the silver beads as well as hand-carved the heart for the love in his life. He used natural red coral and blue turquoise, both of which are traditional colors for protection from evil and the evil eye.

Victorian elephant hair jewelry, all made in England during the occupation of Africa. No elephants were harmed in the process; as the elephants' tail hair fell out naturally, it was either gathered by local tribesmen and sold to the English occupiers or gathered by the English themselves during hunting expeditions for antelope. Worn for luck
