THE COMPANY

We launched the company in 1982, initially working out of our apartment and later established a design studio and production facility in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of New York. In 20+ years since we opened, we have expanded from two-person enterprise selling its merchandise at craft fairs to a company that employs 40 full time and part time employees, including a team of skilled artisans and several customer service specialists. Many of our employees have been with us for over 15 years.

Michal Golan Inc., which maintains 1500 accounts in the United States, also sells its products through a network of distributor’s base in Germany, Australia, Japan and Korea. Our work is available at upscale gift shops, galleries and museum stores across the U.S., Europe, Asia and Australia, as well as via high-end mail-order catalogs. The company has a devoted customer base, many of whom are collectors of Michal’s work.

OUR RETAIL STORES

In 2003 we opened our first retail location at 4 Cortlandt Street in lower Manhattan.

This store features a range of our merchandise in a striking jewel-box like space whose facade is adorned with brightly colored metal elements similar to those showcased in Michal’s ceramic mosaic installations.

Our second retail store opened in 2006 on New York’s upper West Side, 313 Columbus Avenue. It also features Michal’s one of a king larger mosaic wall pieces.

THE JEWELRY

Handcrafted  in our New York studio by a team of dedicated craftspeople, with production closely supervised by Michal. The work is fabricated in sterling silver and 24k gold electroplated over brass or white metal. Inspired by the elaborate designs of Byzantine, Victorian era and Middle-eastern jewelry and decorative arts, Michal’s designs are an array of richly hued semi-precious stones, Swarovski crystals and freshwater pearls. Although jewelry accounts for largest segment for the business,  our extensive product line also includes gift items like decorative boxes, photo frames, letter openers etc., and also Judaica items like menorahs, hamsas and mezuzahs.

We pay close attention to the quality of our product and make it to last.
