SAPPHIRE WHISPER

   About:

Catherine Fung was born in Hong Kong and went to boarding school in England at a young age. After finishing her studies in Business Management at the University of London, King’s College, Catherine went backpacking through Western and Eastern Europe. At the age of twenty, she adopted Little Prince, a Yorkshire Terrier puppy who became her travel companion throughout Asia and the United States.

Catherine had dreamed of becoming a designer since her early days of candy wrapper Barbie dresses. Catherine went to freelance with a photographer for National Geographic for two years in order to move to New York City and study fashion design at Parsons School of Design. Because she was struggling financially and restlessness to start her dream career, she sped through the two year program in one year and graduated on the dean’s list. Her graduation thesis was featured in Frame Magazine

Upon graduating, Catherine found Piggy, a Coker Spaniel puppy who joined the burgeoning family. Catherine started at Nicole Miller New York as the head of evening and bridal wear. Catherine stared a ready to wear label for women’s and because her dogs Little Prince and Piggy were so important to her, she couldn’t help but make them matching pieces.
