About:

Exquisite Costume is a vintage boutique filled with sartorial treasures that span from the late 19th C. to the very Azzedine Alaia ‘90s. Whether it’s a Pierre Balmain strapless dress from the 1950s, perfectly torn on top for a magnificently antiqued allure, or an impeccably tailored Victorian jacket with a peplum detail and a rich, vegetable-dyed silk lining, each piece is an extraordinary find, and comes with a hand-written tag describing the history and craftsmanship.

Making each piece all the more exceptional, is its reasonable price. “We want everything to be accessible,” says Stacy Iannacone, who, along with fellow vintage lover Tracey Moulton opened the Nolita boutique during New York Fashion Week in February.

Many might already be familiar with Exquisite Costume. In the past two years it has become a favorite online boutique and vintage show exhibitor for stylists, collectors, and vintage lovers alike. Pieces from Exquisite Costume have been featured in Italian Vogue, V, The New York Post, Refinery 29 and Tokion, and design teams from some of today’s leading designers regularly source its historical acquisitions for inspiration.

Filled with a great selection of Victorian lace blouses, ‘60s and ‘70s Yves Saint Laurent, Holly’s Harp rich hippie jersey dresses, and maxed-out 1980’s cocktail numbers from Vicky Tiel, Exquisite Costume is geared for girls who like to dress up. “Even if that just means wearing an Edwardian jacket with a ratty pair of jeans,” explains Iannacone.
